It's been a while....

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but with two jobs, and very limited computer time it is very hard to post. I've been doing a bit more on the creative side, drawing and writing. Also, I've joined Twitter, finally. I'll give more frequent updates there, though this will have more explanations than you can get on Twitter. Long Awaited Homecoming

It is amazing really, how long we've waited for this. My father always spoke about his cousin, whom my second eldest brother was named for, and how he went missing in the war, but now we've got him home. Tragically lost at such a young age, he will be buried on his birthday, 58 years later.

Well, it's been a long while since I've posted, and boy have things changed.

I am no longer a manager of a small copy & print shop, now I am working part time at Staples, and still looking for something more permanent and full time. I'll probably go back to being a correctional officer, they pay better, the benefits are free and take effect immediately, and there is no customer service skills involved.

On a more personal note, nothing has changed there either, don't know why I brought it up.

As far as my writing goes, I've joined the 30Kisses community, and will be posting my entries to that challenge here as well as on my site and at the appropriate fanfiction archives (ff.net, mm.org, etc.). All will be behind lj-cut, but the links off site will be before the cut.

Donkey Humor Forward

I don't normally do this, but This is exactly what I needed today. It brightened my day, may it brighten yours!

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a
Well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
The farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
Well needed to be covered up anyway;

It just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
Help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
To shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
Donkey realized what was happening and cried
Horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he
Quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
Looked down the well. He was astonished at what
He saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
Back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel
Dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
Off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
Stepped up over the edge of the well and
Happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
Of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well
Is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
Our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
Of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
Never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Well, life has been really kicking my butt lately. My store is closing, my niece left, and I need to get a new job to pay for my new auto-baby.
I am under so much stress, and then I get an anonymous message from someone from my past. It should be interesting to see what happens.
Not that I'm complaining, but why does it seem like all the people I knew in the past are married with children?
Oh well! But that is all I've got time for... gotta run!

Ok, it's been almost two months since I posted (how embarrassing!). I got a new car to replace "Little purr, Big roar" on the 9th of July, adopted a fanlisting and well, done a whole lot more other stuff. It seems like I've been really busy, and I've started designing t-shirts on the side as well! a better thought out update later... now if only I had time to do stuff I'd like to do, like revamp my continuum... it's feeling a little dated.

I realize that it has been a while since I've posted, so here's an update.
Dad's oncologist is optimistic, gave him only a 20% chance of recurrance, no chemo, no radiation... so I'm quite optimistic.
As far as websites go, I've got two upcoming fanlistings, I'll post more later.

The Good News

That I am able to have a post entitled that is a good thing. Period. My father recently underwent surgery, a bowel resection to remove a fist-sized growth that was actually wrapped around the lower part of his colon. That was scary in and of itself, but he pulled through alright, better than alright if you consider that he is over eighty years old. We're still awaiting results of the biopsy, but so far it would seem that they got everything, and just in time too.

Other good news, that seems pale now in comparison with the saving of a life, is that I am finished with all the fanlistings I have been approved for. With TheFanlistings.org holding off on their updates due to hotmail problems, (I can't say I was ever really happy with hotmail before now, and now I like them even less -- many ebay problems with them before) I am holding off on applying for the others I want, for now.

So it would seem that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and maybe I'll get there someday.

Anime Animal Bishis Part One - Asato Tsuzuki

So last night I had a Yami no Matsuei marathon, and so today I've been searching the internet for screencaps, because I really don't have the time to make my own. I found plenty, finally, here.
I can't begin to tell you how ecstatic I was, especially since I was looking hard for screencaps of Tsuzuki as a puppy, and wanted more than just the picture of him from episode one, pictured here. I found that picture everywhere. Now let's see what I can do with them.

Yay!!!!!! I am on my way to being very happy with my well rounded domain. First, my efiction site is taking off, so is my coppermine gallery, now... Namelistings!

So now I have been approved for two of my favorite female names: Catriona and Luciana.
Catriona is up and running, ~~Luciana is under construction... will be up soon! Probably later tonight or sometime tomorrow.~~ Luciana is also up and running... was up two days later thanks to the compy having issues with the internet.

Scratching a Layout Itch

Well, I got a little restless, and decided to revamp the continuum as a whole, again... well not fully as a whole, the reading room, tributaries, and gundanium exploits haven't been changed, so I guess you could say I worked on the main part of the continuum,
converted to php so i could use headers and footers! OMG it is sooooooooo much easier now!

As for the often forgotten hideaway, it got a complete makeover, so to speak. Kept Angel Sanctuary's Sara Mudou, and the lyrics to the hymn Hosea, but gave it a new makeover to make it easier to read, and easier for me to edit.

Began working on the fanlisting collective I want to have. I just need fanlists now... that's the hard part. Got the main parts of the collective up. It's a cute layout, and uses Tweety! I've always wanted to use him somewhere, but never had a real opportunity to do so.

Now to finish the rest of the site.... still need to work on the Sailormoon Memorial and the Labyrinth Shrine.... well I can't be online all day.

Stuff in the Works....

The freezing weather has passed in my part of Texas, so far anyway, and the gray skies of winter have left me in a weird funk. So I've started writing, a bit.

Just in case you were wondering what I am working on, it is as follows, in order of importance (well the importance is for me, so I know what I really need to work on most!):

The Aftermath - a follow up to The Mission... because I also did not like the way it ended.
Obsessed by a Belief - the first (i believe) in an angst ridden series with Wufei the way I've never written him before.
Heartaches Arc - a series of song inspired fics, based on the Patsy Cline Heartaches album. I've finished the first song so far, and have a bit of two on the way. Want to get through three done before I post any of it.
Dearest Duo, I had that dream again. Find me and I'll "tell" you about it ~Fei --- the name says it all...
Universe - Songfic where Duo and Wufei finally reveal their feelings to each other. Mostly finished, but I'm having trouble with the ending.....
What Would Happen -- Wufei is trying to move on with a normal life. He's in college, is living with his wife (who wasn't dead after all), the Team Gundam has disbanded -- never to meet again, then his life is changed when there is a guest lecturer in one of his classes...a seminarian by the name of Duo Maxwell, who is days away from taking his final vow to become a priest.
Letters from Cupid -- Just what it says, it's just a working title for now. It's a game that Cupid is playing on Heero, using the others as his pawns, since Heero is impervious to love arrows.

Well, that's it. There are others, but this is what's going on, now... it should work itself out, and I'll post notifications as they are completed.

So it would seem that I'm finally getting around to categorizing the fanfics I have on disk, complete and incomplete, and posted a few on my site Shenkai's Reading Room so now I can see what I need to work on.

The Epiphany - a love story that doesn't really involve any characters really, just a myth that I may bring into another fic later.

Remembering Death - Chang Wufei, Gundam Wing - a short story where the Chinese pilot from L5 remembers the death of his loved ones. shonen ai only because it mentions he is now married/committed to Duo

The Mission - Duo Maxwell/Chang Wufei, Gundam Wing - a short story with an inclusive songfic about Duo going on a mission that reveals a lot about himself, and his current relationship with Wufei. Yaoi/Slash/June (however you want to take it). Posted also to the WufeiDuoYaoiML and WuFanficParadise yahoo! Groups.

The Final Frontier - Gundam Wing/Star Trek TNG crossover - The first episode in a series that will be called "What is Truth?". The GW Boys stumble upon a UFP Buoy and are sent on a mission, along with the crew of the long hidden Enterprise F, to go and find survivors from the Dominion Wars that happened long before the AC timeline began.

And that, along with a lot of uncharacteristic ice on the ground, is what is going on in my corner of the US.

Well, it seems I am a bit late when it comes to the New Year, but man I've had a weird December, which finally finished today. My job has been keeping me so busy I've had no time for writing, or updating my webspace, but that should all change now, with this entry.
Working on a new story arc, it's an album of songfics based on Patsy Cline's Heartaches. Not going to post it until I have more than just a little idea of where I'm going with it, but I hope you all find it interesting, I may post a snippet of it here, later. We'll see.
That's my world, and I've not much more to say. Would talk about my resolutions, but I've broken them all.
Happy New Year! Hope this one is better than 2006. I can't handle another year like that.
